System Overview

System Detail

Passive Starlight Colour Imaging

The camera produces full-colour video under starlight conditions without any active infrared illuminator. This eliminates position disclosure and removes the logistical requirement for supplemental lighting at remote surveillance sites.

Auto Back Focus Remote Adjustment

ABF uses a motorised rear-element drive to shift focal position electronically via remote command. Operators can achieve precise focus on elevated masts or in inaccessible locations without dispatching technicians.

Long-Range NVESD-Standard DRI Performance

Detection, recognition, and identification ranges are measured against a 1.7 m × 0.5 m human target using US NVESD methodology, providing a verified, comparable performance baseline. The 5400 m detection range enables wide-area situational awareness from a single fixed camera node.

AI Video Analytics and Adaptive Frame Rate

Built-in AI detection modes include global alert, cross-border alert, and regional alert, with an analytics range of 280 m in the colour variant extendable 3× with manual zoom. Adaptive frame rate modes down to 5 fps further reduce minimum illumination, extending operational range in extreme low-light.

Operational Scenarios

Designed for the Field

Border and Perimeter Surveillance

The XHC6160C-ABF is deployed at national borders and secured perimeters where passive long-range human detection under starlight conditions is operationally critical. Operators can surveil wide areas without illuminating the scene, preserving tactical concealment. A 160 mm F1.7 lens combined with a 1.5-inch 10 µm CMOS enables 5400 m person detection in colour mode, with a minimum effective illumination of 0.0008 lux at 25 fps — eliminating the need for active IR or white-light illuminators even in complete darkness.

  • Person Detection Range: 5400 m (colour)
  • Min. Illumination: 0.0008 lux @ 25 fps
  • AI Detection Modes: global, cross-border, regional alert
  • Focal Length: 160 mm equivalent, F1.7

Critical Infrastructure Protection

Power stations, water treatment facilities, and communications nodes require 24/7 passive imaging coverage at extended ranges without the maintenance burden of illuminator systems. The XHC6160C-ABF provides continuous colour video across day and night conditions from a single fixed-mount node. ABF motorised focus adjustment removes the need for technician site visits after initial installation, while internal 32 GB storage (expandable to 128 GB) and RTSP streaming support integration with enterprise VMS platforms.

  • Identification Range: 840 m day and night
  • Internal Storage: default 32 GB, max 128 GB
  • Focus Mode: Auto / Manual ABF (remote)
  • Protocol: ONVIF / RTSP / PELCO

OEM Module Integration

System integrators requiring a long-range passive CMOS imaging core select the XHM6160C-ABF module variant for embedding into multi-sensor surveillance platforms, vehicle-mount housings, or custom environmental enclosures. The module shares identical imaging and electronic performance with the XHC camera variant. SDK access and HTTP API support are available upon request, enabling custom integration pipelines; ONVIF and RTSP compliance ensures plug-in compatibility with third-party VMS and C2 software.

  • Sensor: 1.5 inch CMOS, 10 µm × 10 µm pixel pitch
  • Interface: RJ45; Wi-Fi; 4G LTE (optional)
  • SDK: available upon request
  • Resolution: 1920 × 1080 Full HD
Developer Resources

System Integration

Ethernet / IP Interface

The primary data interface is RJ45 Ethernet, delivering H.264/H.265 compressed video streams over RTSP and ONVIF-compliant discovery and control. An optional HD-SDI output is available on bullet-type camera variants for direct uncompressed video feeds to recording systems without an IP network. PELCO protocol support enables integration with legacy PTZ control infrastructure; WebRTC remote access is available under optional license for browser-based monitoring.

Interface : RJ45 Ethernet Protocols : ONVIF / RTSP / PELCO Streaming : RTSP (primary); WebRTC (optional license) Wireless : Wi-Fi (standard); 4G LTE (optional) Alternate Video : HD-SDI (bullet variant)
